Standard carbine configuration with "C" marked rear sight. "US/ 1873/ SPRINGFIELD" marked low arch breech block. 1881 dated SWP cartouche on the left side of the stock. "U.S./ SPRINGFIELD/ 1873" marked lock. "V/ P/ eaglehead" proof on barrel. Trap in butt with 3 -piece cleaning rod and broken shell extractor. CONDITION: Retains 70% blue on the lock. Minor traces of case colors on the barrel tang and breech block. The rest of the gun has a pleasing patina with traces of thin finish and areas of very minor pitting. All markings are clear. Wood is good with dings and handling marks, showing wear. Bore has strong rifling with areas of light pitting. Fine mechanical function. GR
