Hand colored Courier & Ives lithograph advertisement for Liddle & Kaeding "Sportsmen's Emporium" located on 538 Washington Street, San Francisco California. Robert Liddle and Charles van Buren Kaeding bought Bogart Brothers Sportsmen's Emporium in 1859. The company was initially known as R. Liddle & Co. When Kaeding became an active partner in 1866 the company was named Liddle & Kaeding. They also kept the Sportsmen's Emporium name. In the mid 1870's they were the largest firearms dealer in San Francisco. The company closed in 1898. This beautiful hand colored lithograph featuring Courier and Ives, Brook Trout Fishing image titled: "AN ANXIOUS MOMENT" advertising Liddle & Kaedin's line of firearms, fishing equipment and accessories. CONDITION: Excellent overall with bright, original vibrant colors. -MKS-
