Manufactured 1900. Absolutely stunning condition Mauser Large Ring flat side Broomhandle pistol. Chambered in 7.63 Mauser. 5 - 1/2" round barrel with fixed blade front sight. Top of chamber marked "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER OBERNDORF A/N". Small Oberndorf acceptance proof on right side of chamber and early Crown "U" commercial proof on left side of chamber. Serial number 28524 (indicating 1900 manufacture) on flat. Rear sight graduated 25 to 1000 with slide latch button numbered 24 internally. Bolt numbered 524 with early narrow extractor and single lugged firing pin (numbered 524) with bolt number 524 on rear. Bolt stop is numbered 524 on top flat. Two piece walnut grips with 23 grooves with full serial number 28524 found on both grips internally. Flat side frame with serial number on back and proper late pattern trigger. Floor plate and follower both numbered 524 internally. Fire control mechanism with large ring hammer is fully matching numbered on all observed parts including hammer, bolt lock, sear, sear bar,safety and lock frame stop. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine with most all (over 97%) of the original factory rust blue finish remaining. The bore is very good with bright lands and very slight frosting in grooves. The grips are very fine with most of the original varnish remaining with evidence of addition finish added over slight bruising. An abundance of peacock blue finish remains on extractor, bolt stop, sight, sight slide, and grip screw with just a touch of losses from age and use. The action operates properly, smoothly and without issue. This is an exceptional Large Ring Flat Side Broomhandle pistol. TDW
