Manufactured 1908. Serial number 731 of the first 5000 contracted pistols for Bulgaria from DWM. 4" barrel chambered for 9mm. Blue finish with straw finish appointments and checkered walnut grips and lanyard loop at butt. Produced without stock lug. Script DWM on chamber with Bulgardian crest on toggle. Bulgarian "Lion" proof on right side of upper and unique Cyrillic spelling of "FIRE" located at lower safety position on frame. Nickel finished magazine with wood base and housed in proper Bulgarian contract hard shell leather holster. A later order for an addition 5000 guns was placed the following year (1909). CONDITION: Fair with most blue finish having turned a plum patina and evidence of period rust pitting in concealed areas and grip straps. The grips are worn but appear to be original. The numbers are matching with the exception of the replaced sideplate and magazine. The bore is worn and dark but has strong rifling. The holster is very good with firm yet supple leather and solid stitching. A very rare variation with unique markings and a rarely encountered lanyard loop. TDW
