Lot consists of (A) Smith & Wesson model 38 Safety Hammerless top break with type 3 latch. New York engraved by Hartley and Graham (purported by consigner) and later gold plated by Baron Technology in Trumbull, CT. Caliber .38 S&W with 4" barrel. Mounted with a brilliant set of Mother of Pearl grips. CONDITION: Very fine as custom embellished. Chambers are excellent, bore has some light pitting inside. Action operates properly. Grips are brilliant with minor chip on right side. (B) Smith & Wesson .38 Double Action 4th Model with top break action. Caliber .38 S&W with 5" barrel. Nickel finished and New York style engraved and mounted with a mellow set of ivory grips. CONDITION. Very good as custom embellished with over 90% nickel finish remaining. Traces of gold was exist on cylinder flutes and trigger guard. Ivory grips are very good with a mellow toning. Action operates properly. TDW
