Commercially produced by DWM for sporting sale in the United States. Approximately 2500 were produced with most being exported to the US but none are known to have a "GERMANY" export marking. Two piece checkered walnut stocks with fully contoured detachable butt stock made as a light rifle substitute. 11 - 3/4" round barrel with four position sliding rear sight. Integral ramp front sight with "KING" commercial blade front sight. Script DWM marking on toggle with blank chamber and no proofs to be found on gun either externally or internally after inspection. Numbers found to be all properly commercially matching and correct with two non-numbered commercial nickel finished magazines with wood bases. 1902 carbine is housed in a wonderful French fitted contemporary "HUEY" oak and leather case with green wool lining and leather DWM label. CONDITION: Very fine with 97% commercial blue finish remaining. Walnut stocks are excellent and buttstock is matching numbers to gun. Bore is slightly worn but is very good. Action operates properly and lock-up solid. Case is as new and in pristine condition. A steller 1902 Carbine far above the average example offered for sale. TDW
