Kaba was the distributor name for Karl Bauer, who distributed guns through Germany. Bead front sight horizontally dovetailed through front, mid barrel German adjustable notch rear sight, rear tang mounted Orthoptic sight marked "71" on front. Octagonal barrel with machine matted top flat, left flat under mid sight with German Nitro proof Austrian black powder proof. Bottom flat under forearm with 8.15x46mm proofs, October 1929 date proof, BUG and other diagnostic proofs. Case colored mid sight, receiver, tang sight base, breech block, and orthoptic sight. Added Unertl scope blocks. Schnabel tip forend with vice marks on schnabel tip, probably from a previous owner who could not remove the forend. Wedge marked "71" on bottom. AYDT falling block action with double set triggers. Left and right side of receiver with small spray of scroll engraving. Right side of receiver near breech with BUN proofs, right side of breech block with BU proofs. Rectangular flowing cheekpiece. Pistol grip stock with two panels of point pattern checkering and terminating in a black polymer pad. Accompanied by a sight key for the tang sight. CONDITION: Fine as reconditioned. Barrel blue and case hardening reapplied, probably during period of use. Retains the vast majority of its finishes with some losses at operational points and high edges, alongside a few other minor marks. Standard quarter circle disassembly silver line. Wood is very good with some marks from handling and operation, and an extremely well executed splice repair at pistol grip. Action works appropriately when operated by hand; opening lever needs very slight adjustment as it will close but requires a little more force, bore is excellent, bright and shiny, with sharp lands and grooves.
