Lot consists of: (A) Smith and Wesson Model 1917 double action revolver. Made 1918 with "U.S./ARMY/MODEL/1917" marked on the butt. Serials on the butt, barrel and cylinder match. Standard round steel barrel with blade front sight. "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" marked under the barrel and flaming bomb ordnance mark on the left side of the frame. Blued finish on the barrel, frame, and cylinder. Original wood grips and lanyard ring on the butt. CONDITION: Metal retains 75% of its original finish with some areas of wear and handling marks. Grips are solid with a few handling marks and wear. Lightly frosted bore, with sharp rifling left. Mechanically fine. (B) Smith and Wesson Model 1917 Brazilian contract double action revolver. Made 1937 under contract for Brazil, with a Brazilian crest on the right side of the frame. Serials on the barrel, butt, and cylinder match. Round steel barrel with a blade front sight. Blued finish on the barrel, frame and cylinder. Commercial style wood grips with checkering and Smith and Wesson medallions. CONDITION: Metal retains 70% of its original finish with wear, scratches and handling marks. Grips are good with handling marks and wear to the checkering. Sharp rifling in the bore. Mechanically fine. JWA
