Lot consists of: (A) Essex Arms 1911A1 semi-automatic pistol with Colt 1911 slide. Frame made by "ESSEX ARMS CORP/ISLAND POND, VT.", marked on the right of the frame. Slide is marked, "COLTS PT. F.A. MFG CO. HARTFORD. CONN. U.S.A." on the right side. Blade front sight with u-notch rear. Parkerized finish on the slide and frame. Checkered wood grips. Includes one unmarked steel magazine. CONDITION: Metal retains 90% of its original finish with mild handling marks and wear. Grips are excellent. Clean bore with crisp rifling. Mechanically excellent. Magazine is very good. (B) Colt 1901 Army model double action revolver with holster. Made 1901. Matching serials on the frame, yolk and cylinder stop. "R.A.C." inspectors stamps on the frame, barrel, cylinder and grips. Army inspector initials "L.E.B." on the left side of the frame. Rack number of "40" on the right grip. Round steel barrel with blade front sight. Blued finish on all the metal components. Smooth, oil finished hardwood grips. Includes original leather holster marked "ROCK ISLAND/ARSENAL/1910". CONDITION: Metal retains 50% of its original finish with wear and patina in areas. Grips are very good with light handling marks and wear. Sharp rifling in the bore. Mechanically fine. Hammer is tight, cylinder has some slight side to side movement. Holster is good with some mild wear. JWA
