Lot consists of: (A) Sharps and Hankins Model 1862 "Army" Carbine made from 1862-1865 by Sharps and Hankins Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Blued round barrel with blade front sight and rear adjustable sight. Case hardened frame with no screw holes for leather covering and no leather covering. Action marked "Sharps Patd 1859". Walnut wood stock with brass buttplate and sling swivel stud. CONDITION: 50% original blue turning brown with 50% case turning brown. Traces of original finish with usage marks and dings. Good bore and mechanics. Rare gun. (B) Sharps and Hankin "Navy" Carbine made from 1862-1865 by Sharps and Hankin Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Leather wrapped round barrel with banded blade front sight and adjustable rear. Case hardened receiver with "Sharps Patd 1859" marking. Walnut brass buttplated stock with sling swivel. CONDITION: Leather retains black finish with some flaking and cracking. 50% original case turning a plum color. Traces of original varnish with light handling marks. Good bore and mechanics. DLM
