Proofed in 1979, and built for our consignor, this stunning three barrel set is incredibly beautiful and dynamic. Made with raised matted ventilated ribs on all three barrel sets with small brass front beads, all three barrels are of mono-bloc manufacture and have small wedges of scroll at breech and muzzle ends and barrel lumps are engraved. Three forends with finger grooves on sides are checkered in point pattern with blued and floral scroll engraved Deeley releases and irons. Barrel flats with serial number and proof info on each set. Made with blued non selective single trigger, auto ejectors, and non-auto safety. The action is full coverage engraved and gold inlaid, executed by F. Iora and signed by him on the trigger plate. Left side of action with two large hunters, three pheasants on the ground, and three in the air inlaid in gold all in game scene, bottom of action with "M.A.P" and a Cross inlaid in gold, and right side with four large shooters in gold on the 16 yard trap line with gold inlaid trap house and gold inlaid duck at front of action. All of this work surrounded by deep cut floral scroll throughout. Short tang blued trigger guard floral scroll engraved at bow. Flat knob pistol grip cap is checkered in point pattern through the wrist, has small Monte Carlo and terminates with checkered butt. Monte Carlo with gold initials "RJB" inlaid in gold. Housed in a brown leather brass appointed three barrel set case with red felt interior and plaid canvas cover. CONDITION: Excellent as lightly field used. Retains more than 97% original finish to both wood and metal surfaces with only very minor handling marks noted. Minuscule evidence of a repaired crack at wrist. Bores are bright and shiny. Mechanics are crisp. Case is excellent with minor rubs. JSL
