Style of rifle imported by both sides during the American Civil War. Percussion lock marked "Tower" and dated 1859 and "(Crown) / VR" mark at the rear. Walnut wood stock with illegible cartouches. Rifled barrel with British proofs, rear flip sights and blade front. Iron hardware with steel ramrod. Brass trigger guard and buttplate. CONDITION: Cleaned metal surfaces fading to grey. Wood has been cleaned and sanded with added coat of finish with 2 small marks that look like burn marks. Good mechanics with shootable bore. DLM
