Made for the American Civil War by the Springfield Armory. Percussion lock dated 1862 and marked "U.S. over Springfield". Rifled barrel with "VP" proof and dated 1862. Gun has rear flip sight with blade front. Walnut wood stock with "WPT" cartouche and "ELA" cartouches. Iron hardware with steel ramrod. CONDITION: Gun has original in the white finish with some light freckling. Wood stock is oil soaked with visible cartouches and light handling marks. Good mechanics and bore. DLM
