Lot consists of (A) Manufactured 1869. Needham Conversion, caliber .58 Centerfire built using the Needham patented breech system on a Bridesburg model 1861/62 rifle musket. Swinging breech system with a low production but the interesting history of having been used by the Fenian Brotherhood to attempt to overthrow the Canadian Government in the early 1870s on two occasions. These guns later sold as surplus to the civilian market. CONDITION. Good with action operating properly. Barrel, breech and furniture remain in the white with mottled patina. Stock is lightly sanded with a small crack on left side opposite lock. (B) US Allin conversion Model 1866. .50-70 Governement, 40" barrel including breech with 1864 dated Springfield lock. Iron hardware with one piece walnut stock. CONDITION: Fair with dark bore. Action operates properly. Stock is lightly sanded but intact. Screw missing on breech bridle and replaced rammer. TDW
