Second Model Smith & Wesson Number Three American. Serial number 17902, manufactured between 1872-1874. 8" ribbed barrel with pinned full radius front sight. "V" notch rear sight. Chambered in .44 American (S&W). Blue with case hardened hammer and trigger guard. Two piece walnut grips. Serial number has a five point star at the butt with a date code of 7-12 inside the grips. CONDITION: Excellent as factory refinished, with approximately 80-85% reapplied blue mixed with brown patina remaining. Grips are excellent showing modest wear. Bore is excellent and bright. Action is tight and crisp. -MKS-
