HK date code on barrels for 1979, alongside appropriate proofs for 16 bore and 8mm Mauser. Krupp Lauf steel designation. Bead front sight on raised matted rib with pop up rear rifle sight and Krieghoff scope bases. Side clips and recoil shields engraved with florals; breeches engraved with much simpler bordering. Left side of receiver with safety, cocking indicators. Side lever actuates rear sight and enables rifle fire from front set trigger. Sling loop soldered on base to rifle barrel. Forearm with point pattern diamond crosshatch checkering and Deely style release; last three digits of serial number on interior iron. Receiver engraved with forested scene depicting deer, bottom and sides of receiver with florals and scrollwork. Trigger guard with "PB" initials in a reserve surrounded by florals, tang of horn. Stock with two panels of crosshatch diamond point pattern checkering on each side of wrist. Bavarian cheekpiece. Simple shadowline cheekpiece. Toe compartment for holding four rounds of 8mm Mauser. Stock terminates in a spliced in wooden spacer and black plastic recoil pad. Housed in a custom exotic wood case with faux fur lining with notecard denoting manufacture by Nino Spadaio. Currently detached Carl Zeiss Zielvier fixed power optic. CONDITION: Excellent. Barrel with some light evidence of field use. Receiver engraving is strong, with a few minor rubs. Wood is excellent, with some minor bumps and bruises, likely from light field use. Case is excellent, although notecard does note it was made for a different gun. Glass is excellent. A desirable drilling in a classic configuration of calibers. EW
