Manufactured 1942. Colt Model 1911-A1 Government .45 ACP Pistol. Dark parkerized finish with "WB" (Waldemar Broburg) inspection on left side of frame with "P" proof below magazine release. Right side of frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY No 783530 M1911A1 U.S. ARMY" Trigger guard is Colt "VP" inspected on left top. Slide has proper Colt address and patent marking on left side and serial number 783522 is found beneath firing pin retaining plate. Trigger is short checkered milled pattern and hammer is short wide checkered pattern without border. Safety and slide stop are both checkered as is arched mainspring housing. Barrel is marked "COLT 45 AUTO" on lower left side of chamber with "P" proof on left side if trunnion and "G" sub-inspection on bottom. Blue magazine is marked "COLT 45 AUTO" on base. Grips are Coltwood plastic brown grips without reinforcing ribs. CONDITION: Very good with excellent bore and mechanics. The gun retains over 90% parkerized finish with front strap thinning. Slight edge wear at muzzle and high points of sights. TDW
