Also known as Plant's Pocket Revolver. Manufactured by Eagle Arms Company and marketed by Merwin & Bray in New York. Manufactured during the mid 1860s with a production of approximately 20,000 total. 3 - 1/2" ribbed octagon barrel. Six shot cylinder. Fires a cup-primed .30 caliber cartridge loaded from the front of the cylinder. Silver plated brass frame with blued barrel and cylinder. Two piece rosewood grips. Complete with a rarely seen original hinged box. Box features beautiful graphics displaying an image of the revolver. CONDITION: Excellent overall. Revolver has 75-80% thinning blue on barrel and cylinder blending with brown patina. 85-90% original silver plating on frame, with majority of silver loss located at front of cylinder. Grips are excellent plus, showing modest wear. Action is tight and crisp. Bore is excellent. Box is near excellent with bright graphics. Moderate tattering on corners and edges. Overall an early and difficult box to acquire. -MKS-
