Lot consists of (A) M78 Vetterli Bolt Action Rifle produced by Waffenfabrik Bern with 33 - 1/8" round barrel, chambered in 10.4X38mmR Swiss Rimfire. Features bayonet lug and cleaning rod complete with plain, nearly full length, stock and forearm. Without full disassembly, all numbered parts are matching. CONDITION: Excellent with almost all of the original bluing remaining with some high edge wear and the balance faded to a soft gray patina. Scattered storage marks and pitting on barrel bands trigger guard, rear sight, and cocking piece. Stock and forearm have been lightly sanded but are very fine with martial markings and proofs intact. Scattered handling marks and some dings and scratches throughout. Action works correctly when cycled by hand. Bore is bright and shiny with sharp rifling. Slight abrasion to bore especially at muzzle. (B) Remington Model 1901 Rolling Block Rifle with 30" round barrel, chambered in 7mm Mauser with M1897 rear and front sight (possibly an M1897 originally and was converted to a M1901). Two piece, plain walnut stock and forearm with military buttplate complete with 1907 style military sling. CONDITION: Good as heavily polished with the barrel retaining a dove-gray patina. Scattered, light storage and handling marks throughout. Tang patent date has been restamped to 1901 at some point. Wood is good as sanded and refinished. Scattered dents, dings, scratches and cracks from handling. Cracks at top of buttplate tang and at bottom of forearm near barrel band. Action works correctly and locks tightly. Bore is dark with worn but visible rifling. -TN-
