L.C. Smith 16 gauge, field grade hammer gun with back action and "Royal Steel" barrels. Serial number 156982 matching on forearm, barrels, and frame. Manufactured between 1902-1932. 28" barrels choked full & full, 2 - 1/2" chambers. 14 - 1/8" length of pull from front trigger to original black hard rubber buttplate. CONDITION: Excellent with 93-95% original blue on barrels. Bores are bright. Approximately 75% bright case color on the frame, most loss on right side. Action is tight with locking lever to the right. Wood has been lightly sanded. Checkering is sharp showing little wear. Overall a very nice original hammer gun that has seen little use. PROVENANCE: From the Carl Balderson Jr. Estate Collection. -MKS-
