Springfield Model 1884 Trapdoor rifled musket made in 1891. Blued round barrel with blade front sight and Buffington rear sight. "V P" and Eagle proofs at rear of barrel. Blued lock marked "US Springfield" with Eagle. Blued breechblock marked "US Model 1884". Walnut full military stock with illegible cartouche. Blued hardware with "US" marked buttplate and steel ramrod. CONDITION: 80%-90% original blue remaining with it having a slight haze of surface discoloration. Lock has 90% original finish with light discoloration. Wood has added coat of finish with light scratches and dings underneath. Cartouche is there but illegible. Small chip out of in front of trigger guard. Sharp bore with visible lands and grooves. Good mechanics. DLM
