Standard configuration Colt Commercial 1911 with half moon front sight that has been shaved down, u notch rear sight, two block two line patent information on left side, with Rampant Colt at rear, right side of slide with "COLT AUTOMATIC / CALIBRE 45". Barrel with "5" in front on lug and what appears to be an old partially obliterated import stamp now largely illegible, but a visible "MI" at right end. Checkered slide release, magazine release, left side only safety, and spurred hammer, short spur grip safety, flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Long smooth face milled trigger. Left side of trigger guard with Colt "VP" proof and "R", "E" and "S" on top of bridle. Two tone magazine with dual rivet bottom and lanyard loop. A previous owner has darkened the feed ramp with cold blue or equivalent. Accompanied by a factory letter dated 2018 indicating that this gun was shipped to T.J. Trapp & Company, British Columbia, Canada, a hardware store in New Westminster, and intended for a Stanley Trapp. CONDITION: Very good as partially restored. Slide refinished and retaining virtually all of that refinish. Frame not refinished and retaining the majority with some losses at high edges, reciprocating areas, and with typical takedown line at slide stop. Some minor areas of scattered old oxidation. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is good with defined lands and grooves but consistent oxidation throughout. A neat Canadian shipped 1911. EW
