Front of barrel turned down for a bullet starter. Slide on front sight with protective ears and a small blade sight that has broken off to near base on an elevated island with stippled ramp. Octagonal barrel with flutes at midsection. "ML 874 ML" with ML in ovals on underside of barrel, near action. Flats near breech signed "R. Wagner" and "Furth". Rear orthoptic sight on tang mounted base. Lever action actuates the firing pin that runs that vast majority of the barrel, with only the last 8 - 1/8" rifled. Classic massive sculpted cheekpiece, thumbrest has been sanded off at some point. CONDITION: Good as reconditioned. Barrel retains much blue but has significant areas of blue having flaked throughout, some dents, and old inactive oxidation, primarily under the forearm. Action with evidence of case color but largely faded with engraving of florals on each side with double line and punch dot border, top of receiver decorated en suite. Buttplate with visible pattern but colors have faded entirely. Wood has been professionally refinished with thumbpiece removed and recarved, one rather large pressure dent on right side of stock and one piece missing on right side of forearm. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is very good with sharp rifling and some darkness. EW
