These pistols appear to have been made and converted as a pair with matching features and small "282" stamps near trigger guards, in wood. Small bead front sights on Damascus barrels with "LONDON" on small flattened section of breech decorated with a sunburst and silver band. Silver thumb pieces and barrel key escutcheons. Ramrods, possibly the originals, retained by one ferrule and a channel mouth opening. Stepped locks are sparsely engraved with floral and sunburst, signed Wilbraham. Dolphin form hammers with engraved cocks. Grips checkered in point pattern. Trigger guards engraved with stand of arms with pineapple finials. CONDITION: Good as cleaned and converted. Barrels essentially dove grey and cleaned over old oxidation with some spots of pitting. Locks are very good with some age related darkness and oxidation. Wood is rough with numerous pressure marks nicks, and chips throughout. Ramrod channels both have longitudinal cracks in them, and one trigger guard finial is missing a chip. Wood has additionally been sanded and had a layer of varnish applied long ago. EW
