Hall Model 1843 smoothbore carbine rebored from .52 caliber to .58 at the beginning of the Civil War by W.W. Marston in what became known as the "Hall Carbine Affair" causing relief of General John Fremont. Blued barrel with notched rear sight and blade front. Case hardened receiver with percussion ignition. Walnut military style stock with two bands and iron hardware. Steel ramrod. Chamber marked "NWP". CONDITION: Metal turning a silvery patina. Oil soaked wood with no visible repairs. Good bore and mechanics. DLM
