1918 vintage Model 1885 Schuetzen Rifle serial number 108151. This exact rifle is pictured on page 287 of George Madis "THE WINCHESTER BOOK" "SILVER ANNIVERSARY EDITION". 30" number 3 weight octagon barrel. Chambered in .22 RF Short. Deluxe grade full figured walnut stock and forearm, checkered in Winchester "H" pattern. High comb stock with cheekrest and Schuetzen, Swiss style buttplate. Mounted with Winchester mid-range tang sight, A-5 scope, and spirit level front sights. Double set triggers. Take-down frame. Schuetzen style loading lever with walnut finger groove insert. Forearm mounted palm rest. CONDITION: This once beautiful Winchester target rifle was in close proximity to a house fire. Thought not directly in the fire it suffered the consequences of the heat and water damage. The wood survived in remarkable condition. The metal components have an overall freckling appearance, of which most can be removed with proper cleaning. The bore is excellent and bright. The action operates correctly, however the hammer will not remain in the cocked position (spring probably weakened). Optics are dark. -MKS-
