Lot consists of a Vetterli Vitali M1870/87 rifle, Styer M95 carbine, and a Spanish Mauser Model 1895 carbine. (A) Italian Vetterli Vitali Model 1870/87 manufactured in Brescia. Matching numbers include the barrel and stock. Butt stock is marked with the Crest of Savoy, and indicates the year (1891) and arsenal that performed the Vitali magazine conversion. Left side of barrel shank is marked "Brescia / 1883". CONDITION: Receiver, bolt, barrel bands, and buttplate retain traces of their arsenal applied finish and show patina all around. The barrel and Vitali conversion retain pleasing amounts of arsenal applied blue finish, and show some areas of wear all around. Bore is dark, but retains good rifling throughout. Stock shows some minor dings from storage, but retains clear and legible proofs. (B) Yugoslavian M95M straight-pull carbine manufactured by Steyr. Matching numbers include the receiver, magazine housing, trigger guard, and stock. Receiver is not marked with "S" indicating it has not been converted to fire Spitzer ammunition. Carbine was modified in Yugoslavian arsenals to have a non-removable sheet metal clip, and can be loaded via stripper clips. Extractor is not present. CONDITION: Metal components retain traces of their arsenal applied blue finish, with the balance turning a grey patina. Bore is dark, but retains good rifling throughout. Stock shows many scattered handling marks. (C) Model 1895 Spanish Mauser carbine. No matching numbers. Markings have been scrubbed. Carbine has been refurbished. CONDITION: Metal components retain most of their reapplied finish, but show wear all around. Dark bore with good rifling throughout. Stock has been sanded and refinished and shows few handling marks.
