Lot consists of a DWM Model 1891 Argentino, Spandau Model 1888, and a Mauser Standard Modell bolt action rifles. (A) Manufactured by DWM. Receiver is marked "MAUSER MODELO ARGENTINO 1891./ DEUTSCHE WAFFEN-UND MUNITIONSFABRIKEN/ BERLIN". Phrygian cap, shaking hands proof, and the intertwined "MB" proofs found on external components. Hand guard is stamped "RA" within a circle. Argentine crest has been scrubbed and is in the white. Matching numbers include the receiver, barrel, bolt, stock, and cleaning rod. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their arsenal applied blue finish, with the only notable areas of wear being the buttplate and the scrubbed area on the receiver. Bore is bright and retains strong rifling throughout. Stock is in excellent condition, showing few indentations and marks from use. (B) Gewehr Model 88 manufactured by Spandau in 1889. The front band has had its former regimental marking struck, but is still mostly legible and reads "153.R.1X6", indicating former use by 153rd Regiment Infantry Regiment". The rear band reads ".22. RR. 352." indicating that this rifle was weapon number 352, assigned to the 22nd Reserve Infantry Regiment. "S" spitzer conversion stamp on chamber above crown over "Spandau". Matching numbers include the receiver and the barrel. Bolt matches itself. Stock has been sanded and refinished. CONDITION: Metal components have turned a pleasing brown patina, with traces of the original finish remaining. Bore is dark, showing cleaned pitting throughout. Stock retains the vast majority of its reapplied varnish, showing light wear and handling marks. (C) Standard Modell manufactured by Mauser. Receiver is stamped with the Mauser banner and "Standard Modell" along the left side of the receiver. "BGS" stamp is visible on the receiver, barrel, and buttstock, indicating use by the Bundegrenzschutz (Federal Border Guard). Matching numbers include the barrel and receiver. Metal components have been refinished. Complete with sling and cleaning rod. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their reapplied finish, showing scattered areas of wear. Bore is dark, but has been thoroughly cleaned and retains strong rifling throughout. Stock shows scattered indentations from use. MW
