Manufactured in limited quantities from 1860- to 1870's. Total production estimated at less than several thousand. Chambered for the .42 Rimfire Cartridge and using a unique dropping block action with lever lock. (A) Half round half octagon barrel with 2 piece walnut stock with crescent butt with trap. Iron frame with unique lever adjustable rear sight graduated from 0-10. Marked on barrel "ALLEN & WHEELOCK ALLENS PAT SEPT 1860". Serial number 515 found on lower tang. CONDITION: Very good with action having turned silver. Wood stocks have been refinished at earlier period. Bore and action are very good. (B) Serial number 2670 and chambered for .42 Rimfire. 1/2 octagon barrel with adjustable ladder sight. Receiver marked "E. Allen & Co Worcester Mass.". Two piece walnut stock with Crescent but and steel forend tip. CONDITION: Good with silvered receiver. Good bore and mechanics. Stock is void of varnish and had small crack at tang. Unique little single shot rifles. TDW
