Polished bright Damascus barrel with quarter octagon at breech, which is inlaid in gold "Privilegio / 289 de Soriano Duvento Madrid / Duvenrion" (?, difficult to read). Simple blade front sight, rear sight is a notch that is cleared when bolt is rotated forward into position. Loads on underside, safety and button trigger inset on right side of stock. Two panels of point pattern checkering at wrist. Buttplate engraved with simple florals at heel. Sling swivels at toe and forearm, forearm decorated with shell motif at tip. CONDITION: Metal polished bright over old oxidation, leaving some minor dark spots. Some gold inlay at breech has lifted. Tang and buttplate engraving somewhat softened with some oxidation throughout. Wood is very good with some scattered bumps and bruises, chip missing at toe. Possible extra layer of varnish added, as checkering is soft. Action works appropriately, but bore has pitting. A lovely example for the collector of oddities. EW
