Manufactured 1937. The Smith & Wesson Registered Magnum has always been the flagship of Smith & Wesson's quality and most desired by collectors. This example, with factory letter, was shipped August 30th 1937 to Union Hardware in Los Angeles, California with a 6 - 1/2" barrel, Patridge front sight, square notch rear sight, sighted for 50 yards with Magnum ammunition, and Magna Stocks. Finished in commercial blue finish with case colored trigger and target trigger. CONDITION: Very fine with over 97% original bright commercial factory blue finish remaining. Grips are contemporary Smith & Wesson N-Frame service stocks with factory medallions. Bore is excellent with bright lands and grooves. Lock-up is very tight. The action is very smooth and operates properly. Registered Magnums were the pinnacle of craftsmanship for Smith & Wesson and believed in their product so much that the guns had a lifetime warranty. Accompanied with the factory letter and an additional trigger that the consignor had purchased for unknown reasons. TDW
