The Batavia Leader is the entry grade gun for the Baker Gun Co. from 1903-1919 and is seen frequently but rarely ever seen with any original finish. Spring loaded splinter friction forend is checkered is checkered in point pattern and has ebony triangular shaped tip. Case hardened unengraved side plate action marked "Batavia Leader" on sides. Made with double triggers, extractors, non-auto safety. Buttstock with round knob pistol grip is checkered in point pattern through the wrist and terminates with the original Baker Gun Co. monogrammed composition buttplate. CONDITION: Extremely fine for this model. Barrels retain nearly all of their original finish. Action retains 95% bold original case color with breechface being unmarred from shell markings. Stocks are sound and crisp with minor handling marks. Checkering is crisp. Trigger guard retains most of its high luster blue with beginning toning. This is an extremely rare gun in this condition!
