Made in 1903, this fine little gun made on a "0" Frame with Damascus barrels that have matted concave rib and small steel front bead. A second set of barrels, likely factory fitted, in 20 bore with matted rib and marked "2" on forend lug accompany the gun. The single splinter forend is checkered in standard DH Grade pattern with engraved Deeley release and engraved steel tip. Case hardened action is engraved in standard early D Grade pattern with setter on right, pointer on left, and four flying birds on trigger plate. Made with double triggers, extractors, and auto safety. The capped pistol grip buttstock is checkered in three point pattern through the wrist, has a nickel oval near the toe and terminates with a leather faced Hawkins brand pad. CONDITION: Good to very good. 20 bore barrels retain about 25% original pattern, mostly silvered, with some repair work at short section of rib, bores are slightly frosted throughout. Checkering has thinned on the breech end of the forearm but all visible and well defined towards muzzle end. Action has toned to gray. 16 bore barrels retain about 75% original pattern with very good bores that have a pit or two and some minor orange peel. Buttstock is sound, checkering lightly thinned, and retains about 70% original finish with light handling marks and scratches from hunting wear. This is a very unusual gun and would be most versatile to use throughout the fall and winter hunting seasons! JSL
