Made by the Ithaca Gun Co. as a higher end model of the Lefever Nitro Special. This gun with auto ejectors, double triggers, auto safety. The barrels have a matted top rib with brass front bead and tops of barrels at breech ends marked "Lefever Arms Co. Ithaca, NY" and "Lefever A Grade". Beavertail forend is checkered in point pattern with push button release has blued iron. The case hardened action is line engraved on the borders. Capped pistol grip buttstock is checkered in point pattern and terminates with an Ithaca "sun burst" pad. PROVENANCE: Ex. Austin Hogan Collection. CONDITION: Excellent as field used. Barrels retain nearly all of a period restored blue finish. Stocks are sound and retain most of what appears to be their original finish with some finish added for preservation. The action retains about 40% original color, mostly on sides, toned on bottom. Bores are excellent with only a freckle or two ahead of the chambers. Mechanics are crisp. These are scarce guns and increasingly collectible. JSL
