Made in 1941 on a Featherweight frame with 30" barrels that have matted top rib with steel front bead. Splinter forend is checkered in point pattern. Case hardened unengraved action stamped "L.C. SMITH" on fronts of lockplates. Made with double triggers, extractors, and non-auto safety. The capped pistol grip buttstock is checkered in a point pattern and terminates with a modern "Decelerator" brand pad. CONDITION: Excellent as lightly field used. Barrels retain 97% original blued finish with beginning thinning. Receiver retains about 90% bold original case color which has started to drift on bottom right side but bold elsewhere. Stocks are sound with minor impressions and retain about 95% of their original finish. Trigger guard retains about 75% original blue, toned at tang but stronger on bow. Bores are bright and shiny. Mechanics are crisp. Overall a fine L.C. Smith 16 gauge. JSL
