Made in 1902 with striking Damascus barrels that have matted top rib with steel front bead. Made on a #2 frame with unstuck barrel weight of 3 lbs 15 oz. The splinter forend is checkered in standard D Grade pattern with engraved Deeley release and steel tip. The case hardened action is engraved in standard DH grade pattern of the era with pointer on left, setter on right, four birds on trigger plate surrounded by well executed Parker scroll. Made with double triggers, extractors, and auto safety. The capped pistol grip buttstock is checkered in point pattern through the wrist and has silver oval near toe and terminates with the original blued and engraved skeleton buttplate. The interesting thing about this gun is that the side panels are checkered, and although not commonly found on D grade guns, we firmly believe that the checkered side panels are right and factory original. CONDITION: Excellent. Barrels retain virtually all of their bold original Damascus pattern with just beginning silvering at the muzzles. Action retains 75%+ original case color with excellent crisp screws. Stocks are sound and retain more than 90% of their original finish with some finish added for preservation and have just a few minor handling marks and impressions. Buttplate and trigger guard retain around 1/2 of their original blue. Bores are bright and shiny. Mechanics are crisp. This is an interesting DH in quite remarkable condition. Very crisp! JSL
