Theoretically produced in 1874. U.S. Inspected Colt Single Action Army Cavalry model with 7-1/2" barrel serial number 6511. One piece grips with proper single line Colt's address. Appropriate Ainsworth inspection cartouche on lower left side of grips with small "A" inspection on barrel and cylinder. Proper period black powder rifling in barrel and cylinder produced without lead-in slots. Early pattern bullseye ejector and appropriate Beryllium copper spring. Small "C" inspection in hammer slot and matching 527 assembly number found on base of frame and loading gate. CONDITION. Good as totally restored with reproduction barrel with newly applied address and markings. Serial numbers are matching on barrel, cylinder, and frame as well as trigger guard and butt but are believed to be applied at time of restoration. The early bullseye ejector knob is a contemporary produced example. The bore is pristine. The grips are contemporary with artificial cartouches applied. The revolver has been wonderfully artificially aged to deceive and has an off color patina and small areas of man made pitting to convince unlucky collectors. The two line patent address appears real however the US is recently applied and is slightly undersized. A great antique revolver for display purposes. TDW
