1934 manufactured Ace. Pre-floating chamber barrel, tall thick front sight, adjustable rear sight, two line information block on left side of slide, right side with Ace logo. Checkered slide release, magazine release, left side only safety, spurred hammer, 1911A1 long grip safety, knurled mainspring housing without lanyard loop, short checkered trigger, checkered wood grips. Magazine with Ace marked baseplate from a conversion kit, with visible "two tone" from before refinished. CONDITION: Very good as restored. Gun, including magazine, was carefully refinished with a very thin old layer of park. Silvering towards muzzle and at high edges, along side other marks from handling and operation, including takedown line. One distinct area of old oxidation on left side of slide under patent information. Left grip scale with one crack at bottom. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is excellent, with good rifling and some minor firing residue. Accompanied by an article written by William Wells describing the use of Ace pistols by the Treasury from 1934-1940. EW
