Early 18K Gold Patek Philippe & Co., Geneva, Switzerland, Private Label Made for J. E. Caldwell & Co., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Small Hunter Case Pocket Watch with Chain, Circa 1865. Beautifully hand engraved case with black inlaid covers having central cluster of rose-cut diamonds to front cover, opposite small initialed oval shield, framed with flowers. Case is double-signed and numbered on cuvette "Made for J. E. Caldwell & Co., Philadelphia, No. 24827, Patek Philippe & Co., Geneva". Watch includes chain consisting of seven cylindrical onyx links with 14K gold rings and capped with onyx toggle. It measures approximately 8 - 1/2" in length. Stamped "14" inside pocket watch swivel clasp. Front cover opens beyond 90 degrees with some looseness to hinge, there are some losses and scratches present to inlay, with large chip missing from back cover, otherwise in very good condition.
