18K Gold J. Assmann, Glashütte I/Sachsen, Germany, Open Face Pocket Watch, Circa 1880's. Engine turned case is fully signed, hallmarked, numbered and stamped "C.750", having a central monogram on back cover. In 1850, Julius Assmann started working as an assistant for A. Lange. Upon leaving A. Lange's company, he opened his own firm in Glashütte in 1852. There is a very small scratch in dial through the XI (11 o'clock) marked and moderate even wear to the engine turning on case, otherwise in excellent condition.
