14K Gold American Waltham Watch Co., Waltham, Mass., Model '74, Chronograph Open Face Pocket Watch, Circa 1882. Beautiful engine turned case with framed shield centered on back cover, having no monograms. Case numbered and marked with raised "A.W.CO." & "14K". Movement is numbered and marked "Woerd's Patents." & "Patented Oct 3, 1876 and Sept. 28, 1880. Patented in England Aug. 6, 1880.". There are a few hairline cracks present to lower portion of dial with a chip to outer edge at 5 o'clock position. Bow is worn from use with pocket watch chain. Case has light even wear with a few tiny dents to back cover near hinge, otherwise in very good condition.
