18K Gold DuBois & Co., Quarter-Hour Repeating Open Face Pocket Watch, Circa 1880. Engine-turned hand engraved case with off-set hinges, numbered with hallmark inside bow. Cuvette marked with hand engraved and enameled movement details and "DuBois & Cie., Aiguilles". Repeater function tested and working, but hands need adjustment. Chiming incorrect time by roughly 3 hours. In order to activate the repeater, you must first lift the oval "crown" button into it's fully raised position, secondly, it must be turned clockwise by 90 degrees and finally, push button back down to lowered position. The repeater function can then be locked out by turning the button counter-clockwise back to it's original position. Watch includes original period correct gold key. Key is open at top, and may have had a stone set into it at some point. Watch has a few small dents and marks around outer coin-edge rim with some enamel losses to cuvette and moderate wear to engine-turned cover, otherwise in very good condition.
