Persian Model 1909 cavalry saber, patterned after the 1881 Russian dragoon saber, shashka, carried by the Persian Qajar cavalry Cossack Brigade. Slightly curved blade with wide fuller, ricasso with makers marks, brass "D" guard, carved wood grip. Black painted steel scabbard with single ring mount. CONDITION: Blade mostly grey with minor staining. Scabbard shows a few minor dents. DG
