Lot consists of 3 standard configuration U.S. Navy 1841 pattern cutlasses, with brass hilts, impressed eagles on the pommel face and reverse, scaled grips secured with 3 rivets and flat knuckleguard extending from pommel, widening to form counterguard and ending with curved quillon and flat disc. 1 cutlass with partial scabbard. (A) "N.P. Ames / Cabotville / Mass" lengthwise on obverse ricasso, U.S.N. / 1842 on reverse. Rack number "44" on outer counterguard, rubbed on left. Blade bright with gray spots. Hilt shows old polishing. With original scabbard in good condition, but missing tip. Riveted seam. Ames / Cabotville / Mass" lengthwise on obverse ricasso, "U.S.N. / 1842" on reverse, though last 2 digits are light. CONDITION: Good to very good. (C) Medium patina to hilt with some brown stains.
