Small brass blade front sight, notch rear sight. Octagonal slightly swamped barrel decorated at face of muzzle with filing to eight points. Lock extensively engraved with scrollwork and signed "Sebastian / Scheidtogger / in Salzburg" in a reserve. Later manufacture Barrel is unmarked, but decorated at stock contact points with stock scalloping attractively. Classically configured replacement stock with ergonomic trigger guard, full length stock, and large cheekpiece made out of ebonized wood. Stock inlaid throughout with extensive bone inlays depicting geometrics, a scene of a hunter with a boar spear and his dog, floral designs, cherubim, a mustachioed warrior, and a second hunter with a spear and pair of dogs chasing an elk. Nosecap of bone decorated with geometrics. Ramrod, a replacement, is stuck in the channel and retained by two bone ferrules decorated with geometrics. Sliding patchbox cover with florals and a dragon, rear made of bone. Butt with bone inlay depicting a woman firing a bow (Artemis?) at an unseen target, with dog giving chase. CONDITION: Fine. Barrel is rebrowned with some silvering to high points and scattered areas of oxidation, mostly towards muzzle. Stock is excellent, with some marks from handling and operation commensurate with light use; two inlays are noticeably missing from patchbox. Action works appropriately when operated by hand (no crank included), bore with even oxidation and nicely visible rifling. Accompanied by a previous description of this rifle. EW
