Steel barrel with four stages; breech stage fluted and intercepted by wedding band before turning to light acanthus engraving, stepping to the longest section with more acanthus, before being intercepted by another wedding band before becoming octagonal with intermixed acanthus and line engraving with upturned cannon muzzle. Balance of gun engraved with further acanthus and line engraving. Pierced belt hook. Lobe butt decorated with silver inlay geometrics, and three bands on underside of frame. Wide English style waterproof pan. Lock is marked "IOHN:MURDOCH". CONDITION: Gun has been heavily cleaned to a smooth metal finish with softening to engraving as a result. Action works appropriately, bore with even oxidation throughout. Cock replaced. EW
