Manufactured 1936. Elegant pre-War .38 Super Automatic produced at the high point of Colt's quality. Colt Model .38 Super Automatic with 5" barrel, blue finish and checkered walnut grips. Left side of slide is marked "COLT SUPER .38 AUTOMATIC" with Rampant Colt. Left side of slide has traditional Colt two-line address. Matching serial number is found under firing pin gate on slide. Barrel is marked "COLT SUPER 38 AUTO" on lower left side of chamber. Frame has Colt "VP" proof on upper left side of trigger guard with serial number 19515 found on left side with "60" sub-inspector on right side of upper trigger guard. Two tone factory magazine marked ' COLT SUPER 38 AUTO" on base. Checkered short commercial trigger with checkered commercial arched mainspring housing. Housed in the original numbers matching Colt factory box with excellent complete label and instruction paperwork with hang tag. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine with over 98% of the factory original finish remaining. Very minute take-down scratch below slide stop and trace of wear on sides of trigger. A very minute amount of box wear is evident under bright light on right side of slide at edge of slide flat forward of ejection port. Grips are as new. Action is proper functioning. Magazine is as new with no distress. This is one of the finest examples ever noted with a equally fine numbers matching box. TDW
