1897 vintage Model 1893 Marlin, serial number 149151. Engraved in Marlin factory pattern grade #1, featuring a round panel with a doe deer on receiver right side, and an oval panel with a running buck deer on receiver left side. Each panel is surrounded with fancy borders and scroll engraving with punch dot backgrounds. Scroll engraving on the loading lever lug, forearm cap, and takedown ring. Light engraving on top tang and barrel breech. Deluxe grade highly figured walnut stock and forearm. Checkered with pistol grip. 26" full octagon barrel with full length magazine tube. Chambered in .30-30 caliber. Rifle style crescent buttplate. Take down frame. Blued with case hardened hammer and buttplate. CONDITION: Excellent as restored. Approximately 95% reapplied finishes remaining. Front sight blade has been replaced with an attractively shaped "Rocky Mountain" style, made from horn. Bore is fine with moderate abrasion. Action is tight and crisp. Overall a very attractive rifle. -MKS-
