Early antique back action hammer gun made with Crolle Damascus barrels that have plain Damascus top rib with small brass front bead. Top rib with makers name and address at breech end. Wedge fasted splinter forend is near fully checkered with engraved steel tip. Back action locks and action are scroll engraved in about 35% coverage. Straight top lever is also engraved "PATENT". Made with double triggers. The straight grip buttstock is checkered in point pattern through the wrist, has a small nickel oval near toe, and terminates with a full steel buttplate that is unengraved. Housed in an early full leather case with brass appointments that has makers label and charge information card on top. CONDITION: Good to very good. Barrels retain about 90% restored Damascus pattern. Action has toned to gray. Stocks are sound and retain most of an older restored finish with some finish subsequently added. Bores with some shallow pitting throughout. Case is good with losses to leather and drying. Straps are replacements. JSL.
