22" tapered barrel with gold band at muzzle, soldered on island with sling loop. Top of barrel engraved "John Rigby & Co. 13 Pall Mall, London, S.W.1". Right side of barrel near breech with proof information for .275 Rigby at 18.5 tons. Receiver with acanthus engraving that extends to the Burris scope blocks, currently fitted with a Schmidt and Bender 4x36 fixed power scope with duplex reticle. Floorplate with gold inlay "RIGBY .275". Forearm with point pattern checkering, dark wood forearm tip. Pistol grip stock with steel grip cap, checkered though with point pattern checkering. Monte Carlo rollover cheekpiece. Sling swivel at toe, stock terminates in a black line spacer and red Old English pad. Unmarked leather sling with leather ties. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining virtually all of the Rigby finishes with a few very minor marks from operation and use. Bolt with some more finish loss but still fine. Trigger guard fine with some silvering at high points. Floorplate is pluming. Wood is very good with some bumps and bruises from light field use. Action operates appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is excellent, bright and shiny, with sharp lands and grooves. Sling is fine. EW
